The Journal, Wednesday, 5/24

Hey Folks,

Whew! Had a pretty good party yesterday on a picnic table under the shade of a desert ash tree in the front yard. Mostly it was my son and grandson, me, music videos on my computer, and Negra Modelo.

My wife came out a few times, and my neighbor stopped by for a little while.

By and large, I don’t drink alcohol to any extent. I usually have a six pack in the fridge, but that six pack usually lasts a year or longer. That was not the case yesterday. (grin)

But today it’s back to more serious matters. My wife has a doc appointment in Tucson this afternoon (about an hour away), so we’ll do that.

My son and grandson will be around for a couple of days before the former heads north to Flagstaff and the latter goes with him to help him unload his moving truck.

I’ll enjoy the visit, but I’m also very aware of the calendar. Today is May 24th. If I want to keep up with my “novel per month” challenge, I still have to finish a novel this month. And I do. So I will.

Then next month begins the “short story per day” challenge plus posting it on Facebook scene by scene as they fall on the page (that will be at https://www.facebook.com/HarveyStanbroughWritingInPublic/) PLUS writing a novel for June.

I was thinking about attending my high school reunion in June too, around the 20th. That would add a whole other level to the short story challenge.

But I think I’m not gonna bite off that particular chunk. Too much to swallow all at once.

For the next couple of days I’ll be writing as I am able. Necessary interruptions are probable, so more than likely I’ll be in that “keep coming back” mode. We’ll see how that works out.

Today, and Writing

Rolled out at 3:30 after stomping around the house in a bout with a severe leg cramp around 2. (grin)

Did little or nothing much of the day. A lot of little things, but nothing worth noting here.

I went to the novel two or three times, but just too much going on today to concentrate on the storyline. I’m calling this another nonwriting day.

See you tomorrow.

Of Interest

Nothing of particular interest today. I’m an avid follower of DWS, so I’ll continue to check his site every morning. But unless there’s something pertinent there, I won’t cross post.
