I’m a professional fiction writer. Writing is what I do.
I’ve been at this for over 50 years. In that time, I’ve written 50 novels, 8 novellas, and over 200 short stories across several genres under my own name or one of several pseudonyms. I’ve also written hundreds of poems and almost two dozen nonfiction books on writing. My work has been nominated for the National Book Award and several other major awards.
