Hey Folks,
When I started the day, I thought I might finish the novel today.
Then again, it’s Saturday, and my son is still here. So I’ll play it by ear. Since I realized I’ll finish the novel this month with no problem, I’ve kind of relaxed.
Plus with the June challenge coming up, relaxing’s probably a good idea. (grin) That’s gonna be hectic, but it’ll be a good kind of hectic.
I do plan to jump right into another novel as soon as this one is finished, though, just so I can get a bit of a head start on writing a novel for June. And I think I might have found a series starter in the current novel, so it’s all good.
So in June…
Ideally, I’ll write five or six hours per day on weekdays and three hours per day (or whatever it takes for a short story) on weekends. Of course to do that will take a lot of focus.
And then out of that will come the little bit of time it takes me to post scenes to Facebook as I finish them. But that’s all right.
Plus, posting the scenes is kind of an extra bonus, a secondary goal. If the act of posting the scenes gets too much in the way of the writing, I’ll stop posting the scenes and just write and post the stories.
This is for the fun of the public, but as a friend pointed out awhile back, it’s for me and my writing first.
Today, and Writing
Rolled out at 3:30 and did little to nothing the first couple of hours. Moved out to the Hovel and to the novel at 6:30.
Around 7:15, a break down at the house to help my wife with some things and then check email and all that.
8:30, back to the novel. 9:15, to the house to mow the back yard while it’s still halfway cool.
Well, I wrote off and on through much of the day and quit around 2 p.m. Still a good day, especially for a Saturday. I expect to finish the novel tomorrow or Monday.
