Hey Folks,
Well, the novel feels like it’s stalled. It might or might not be — I’ve been through this before — but that’s how it feels.
I’m not worried. I’ll write at least one novel this month, whether it’s The Storm or something else. And this is an adjustment month or transition month as I move my writing up to the house, refurnish my office, etc.
Fortunately, today I have some family stuff to do. Stuff away from the house. So in all likelihood this will be a nonwriting day.
I’m posting this early just in case (don’t want to break my Journal streak), but I’ll update it later if I’m back in time. More than likely I will be.
Today, and Writing
Rolled out at 4. Probably a nonwriting day today. We’ll see.
Well, back in time to update this.
Yeah, no writing today. Turned out as I was exiting Ft. Huachuca, went over a speed bump and broke the left front axle on my Tacoma. Sigh. Called a tow truck, hauled the thing to my mechanic’s place.
Our friend Diane came and got us. She met Mona at the main gate at Huachuca, then they came out to the mechanic’s place. We offloaded stuff from the Tacoma into her pickup, and she brought us home.
Two thoughts: This is precisely why I sometimes post this Journal early “just in case.” And this mechanical thing is not a big deal. A minor inconvenience at best. An annoyance, like a gnat I haven’t smacked yet. Just glad it didn’t happen at 75 mph on the freeway. (grin)
Not sure what the next day or two will hold. Guess we’ll see.
